The aim of the ISO 26000 international standard is to define what a socially ?responsible? company (or organisation) is, through the following 7 key principles: human rights, contribution to local development, the environment, consumer protection, good business practice, working conditions and corporate governance.
After 7 years of reflection, it was finally ratified on 1st November 2010.
On 3 November 2010, the social responsibility of Vignerons de Buzet was assessed against the principles of the ISO 26000 standard, using the model developed by AFNOR under the name ?AFAQ 26000?.
We thus became the first French agrifood company to be evaluated.
AFNOR has just rendered its verdict and we are proud to announce our result: ?Level 3, Maturity?
(The scale comprises 4 levels: level 1, encouraging; level 2, progression; level 3, maturity; level 4, exemplary).
Sustainable development has been central to the company?s general policy for many years now.
This distinction is one of the finest rewards for that commitment.
