The brotherhood of the wines of Buzet

The Buzet charter, which dates back to the Middle Ages, states that wine is essential to the life of the village.
As such, it was already inspected by cupbearers who decided whether production was up to the expected standards.
Times have changed, but there is still a cupbearer in Buzet. He is part of a wine brotherhood that states the eternal rule, sets the date of the proclamation of the harvest and gives its discharge on the Gascon wine.
The Order of the Brotherhood of the wines of Buzet is a sovereign order that grants to those it has selected the huge privilege of being a «brother in Buzet wine» at a highly reputed festive event.
This is a great honour that many dream of, but few are called.
