Situated between Queyran, a land of stone, and Casteljaloux, a land of spa waters and forest, the Bouchet vineyards have no doubt been favoured by the nature of their clay-and-limestone gravel soils that are loved by vines and not damaged by drought. The wine from this small, 19-hectare estate is, as you would expect, full-bodied, well-rounded and hearty.
It's obviously true for this 2006 vintage. With, as the cherry on the cake, a magnificent colour (ruby and purple) and a very long finish. 2006 was an intensely hot year, but a magnificent September produced an outstanding vintage in Buzet. However, some plots coped better than others with the fires of the sun.
